To build a bamboo fence there are steps you need to follow; the following information is for a basic design of a vertical style:
- You need to dig post holes approximately one third of the post size in depth and the spacing’s four feet apart between each post holes. It is recommended that you should use hardwood post as bamboo can rot after 3 years if it continues to have contact with soil
- Place the post in upright position and fill the post holes with a mixture of quick set concrete.
- Once the concrete has set, you need to create a frame. Place a bamboo in parallel position to the top and bottom of each post buy using a twine knot to hold bamboo in place
- Once you have tied the bamboo in parallel position to the frame, you can place each bamboo unit in a vertical position by also tying the twine in a knot that will hold it in place securely.
- After the fence installation is complete, it is highly recommended that you apply a coat of natural oil such as hemp oil or Tung oil as it preserves the natural oil that bamboo has and it provides protection to the bamboo so it won’t rot.
