Landscape Maintenance - Grid Systems
About Grid Systems
Introduction
| Grid systems have been designed to be used in the paving and landscaping trade. They are designed to provide support and allow growth between pavements. No mortar or joints are needed when paving because the grid system is designed to support the pavers and keep them in place where they will stay. Grid systems are made from 100% recycled plastics and other materials. They are environmentally friendly and they will not harm underlying soils. Grid systems have been used commonly to prevent erosion and retain sloped areas. |

The grid system can be used on roadways, driveways, vegetation crops and residential yards. Some types of grid systems are designed to be filled with gravel, aggregate or topsoil mix which then allows grass or turf to be planted on top. This is grid system is generally used to prevent erosion on bare soils. Grid systems also provide stability and structure support on roadways and driveways and prevent damages to soil from vehicular traffic. After heavy rainfall the grid system will act like holding ponds and allow the water to gradually absorb down into the soil underneath. |
Grass/Turf Paver Grid Systems
Commonly grass and turf pavers are used throughout residential landscaping to provide natural and unique overall impressions. They need to be installed onto a grid system. Their installation is simple and efficient. The grid system used for grass/turf paver installation is generally plastic. The grid system used is lightweight and easy to install and the pavers sit directly on top of the system to provide structure and support and also still allows growth through the grids.
Plastic Grid Systems
| Plastic grid systems are the most commonly used type of grid system. They are made from 100% pure and recycled materials to help keep our environment safe. They are mainly used for paver applications. But they are also used to protect driveways and prevent erosion. Plastic grid systems can be customized in size requirements to suit the needs of your application. They are also very flexible and allow underlying soil to breathe and move. |

Concrete Grid Systems
 |
Concrete grid systems are made of sand, cement and aggregates. They are placed in moulds to form a grid like system. They are high in durability and strength and are mainly suited to roadway and driveway applications because of their support factors. Concrete grid systems support all types of pavers whilst they still allow growth between them. |
They are also commonly used on vegetation properties that face severe erosion and weather conditions. Vegetation can still grow healthily without the devastating effects in which erosion and weather causes. Concrete grid systems can be made to suit your land and size requirements.
Clay Grid Systems
| Clay grids systems are made of natural clay contain sand fibres. This type of grid system has been used to retain slopes and prevent erosion on large properties. They can also be used for grass and turf paver installation along with plant and flower installation support. They are very flexible and fit in naturally with underlying soils. The hold water greatly and allow the soil to absorb the water soil to resistant erosion. They are a great protective shield against erosion. Clay grid systems come in various different types of sizes and shapes to suit your land requirements.
