About Artificial Plants

Introduction

Any room can be enhanced by adding a plant in it. A plant can dramatically define the look of a room or faintly compliment a piece of furniture. Its appearance alone will carry a feeling of comfort and serenity by bringing an image of nature home.

Artificial Plants
Unfortunately, not everyone is ready, willing, and able to grow and care for plants. Many people have full schedules that don’t allow them time to allocate to watering, fertilizing, or repotting live plants. In this case, the alternative is a costly weekly or bi-weekly watering service. Also, many spaces are in need of the visual effect of greenery but are short of sufficient lighting, have space restrictions, or are just hard to access. In such situations, the only solution is the artificial plant.

Artificial plants are not only used in homes, but also in offices, hospitals, restaurants, lobbies, shopping malls and casinos. They come in a wide variety of styles to suit almost any look whether it be contemporary, traditional, earthy, Oriental, neoclassic, rustic, transitional or tropical.

Cleaning Artificial Plants

Artificial plants look very attractive when first bought, looking authentic and shiny. After they have been in your home or office for a few months, they will tend to pick up dirt and dust. This will cause them to lose their shine and hence, will end up looking old, unattractive, and fake.

Cleaning Spray

Most artificial plants need a good cleaning every three to six months. There are several ways you can go about cleaning your artificial plant. One way is to take a dry cloth and clean the leaves one at a time. You could imagine this would take a long time though.

Another way is to use a spray that will make the plant look brand new again. The spray may drip, so you’ll need to have something covering the ground. This method does work, but it does not get rid of the dust and dirt, rather, it just disguises it for some time.

The best cleaning method, also the quickest and easiest, is to take the artificial plant outside and use a hose to spray it with water. Note that the water pressure should not be too high. The whole ordeal will take no more than a minute. When finished spraying, shake the artificial plant and leave it to dry in the sunlight. You will have your artificial plant back good as new, ready to be placed again in your home.

For in between cleaning, simply take a feather duster and lightly go over the all parts of the artificial plant. Make sure your duster does not lose its feathers easily. Doing this will reduce unwanted dust and dirt buildup between thorough cleanings.
