They can also be used as indoor house plants but they require bright sunlight. Bananas
Bananas are very popular plants and they instantly create a tropical setting. Banana plants are classified as a tropical plant and they can be grown all over the world. They have large leaves and they mature very fast. The actual plant will produce fruit generally in its second year. They require full sun, great watering and healthy and moist soil. There is a wide variety of tropical shrubs which are all well known for their fragrance, fruits, flowering and evergreens. Each has there own individual appearance and pleasant setting. Here is a list of 3 of the most popular tropical shrubs:
- Coloccasia Esculenta Illustris also known as Black Leaf is a tuberous herb which has strong dark green emerald leaves with purple blotches through them. They are suited to be grown in weather conditions which are warmer and they can survive under 45F.
- Tibouchina Urvilleana also known as Princes Flower is a medium sized shrub which offer purple circular flowers, leaves are greenish with bronze tinges; they are most suitable to mild climates.
- Calotropis Gigantea also known as Crown Flower; the crown flower is a drought tolerant topical shrub which flowers and is very attractive and beautiful. They attract butterflies and have a fresh aroma.
