Pool Landscaping - Commercial Swimming Pool Equipment

About Commercial Swimming Pool Equipment

Introduction

Everyone enjoys a swim on a hot summer’s day to cool down and feel refreshed. Some swim as a recreational sport or competition sport. But not every home has the room or homeowners may not be able to afford a swimming pool, this is why commercial swimming pools are provided by local councils. Commercial swimming indoor and outdoor pools are also available to hotel and motel guests who are staying at these places for holidays or work conferences. Holiday resorts also offer commercial swimming pools to their guests to further enjoy their holidays.
Commercial Pool

Swimming Pool Most commercial swimming pools are relatively large in size ranging from 25m to 50m pools. They are generally chlorine water because so many people use the pool on a daily basis the chlorine gets rid of germs immediately. Commercial pools are maintained by staff working at the pool site. There is always a lifeguard on hand at commercial pools to ensure the safety of the pool users. Hotels and motels do not have lifeguards so it important for parents to watch their children when in the pool and for them to also swim safely and watch out for people around as the pools can get very crowded.

Required Equipment

A commercial pool requires commercial swimming pool equipment in order to operate clean, safe and germ free. The first and important piece of equipment which a commercial pool needs is a chemical test kit. A chemical test kit is used to test the levels of pool salt, chlorine, chemicals and pH levels of the water. Staff operating the pool will do this test daily to help keep the pools water clean and at the right swimming levels for people using the pool. The results of this test will allow pool supervisors to add the right chemicals to the water as needed. Other equipment which is required to operate a commercial swimming pool includes the following list:

  • Commercial pool filters and pumps.
  • Skimmer boxes for all corners of the pool.
  • Commercial drainage system for excess water.
  • Recycling systems to recycle the pools water.
  • Automatic cleaners suitable for commercial pools.
  • Solar heating systems.
  • Commercial pool accessories.
  • Sand Filters.

Commercial pool accessories range from hand held skimmers to remove leafs, dirt and debris which can be seen in the water.

Maintaining Equipment

Equipment Repairs The maintenance of commercial pool equipment is required daily to ensure that all the equipment is functioning effectively. Daily checks of the commercial swimming pool equipment should be conducted by pool staff to ensure their guests for the day will be swimming in a clean and safe pool. If for some reason the equipment such as the pumps and filters are not running appropriately then the commercial pool should be shut down and no swimmers should be allowed in until the problem is taken care of.

Commercial swimming pool equipment is very heavy duty and designed to work on larger pools therefore a little maintenance and daily duties will have the pool fresh, clean and enjoyable all year round. Commercial pools will have an equipment supervisor which is mainly hired to maintain and take care of the equipment used in the pool.
