Each material is tested and heat proofed to ensure that they are able to withstand high heated temperatures which the fireplace produces. Each material can be designed to any particular style which will suit the homeowner’s needs. Squared, rectangular, circular or long fireplaces can be made to suit the needs of your outdoor area.

Fireplace Chimneys and Mantels

Outdoor Fireplace Fireplace chimneys are an important feature of a fireplace. They are design to help smoke and soot exit the fireplace in an upward motion rather than exiting the fireplace opening. Chimneys are designed to suit the needs of the fireplace and the higher they are built the better. Chimney covers should also be put in place to prevent fire sparks traveling into other areas such as; surrounding bush land, your landscaped gardens and your neighbor’s yards. If a fireplace chimney is not covered properly it can cause small fires to spark up which can be dangerous. Check your local council restrictions on outdoor fireplaces.

Fireplace mantels are the material which surrounds the fireplace. A fireplace mantel can help protect the fireplace itself and help prevent soot from flying out of the fireplace opening. Fireplace mantels are available in delightful designs and they are of course options depending on the design requirements of your fireplace.

Wood Fired Fireplaces

Wood fired fireplaces are the traditional source of powering a fireplace especially outdoor. For many years homeowners travel around and gather fire wood so they can use their fireplace. Wood fired fireplaces can also be used as outdoor cooking facilities especially if you design the fireplace to have an opening fitted with a grill. Wood is a cheap material to purchase and they are very cost effective fireplaces.

Natural Gas or Propane Fireplaces

Fireplace Natural gas and propane are another choice which homeowners can choose to fire up their fireplace. Natural gas lines can be hooked up to your outdoor fireplace so that you can ignite and run it easily and simply. The cost of gas fireplaces is a little expensive but there are many benefits which homeowners will receive from using it. Propane and gas fireplaces do not cause any mess like soot and smoke and they are easily lit with the push of a finger. Gas logs are also available; they offer a realistic look of actual fire burning.

Electric Fireplaces

Electric outdoor fireplaces generally work exactly like an indoor fireplace. They are ignited by electricity and can be situated anywhere around your outdoor area as long as there is goof air flowing through the area. Again they are costly by they offer many beneficial reasons to use them. They too ignite with the switch of a button and they do not cause loads of mess. They offer the same feel of a wood fired fireplace except there is no wood burning inside it just appears this way.
