Waterfall

The waterfall layout you design should always fit in to the space or area you have chosen to position the feature. Homeowners can begin to design their own waterfall layout by measuring size, width and lengths of the space where the waterfall will be built or installed.

Waterfall Layout Sections

Large Waterfall The 3 most important waterfall layout sections which are required to operate a waterfall are; the pump section, filter section and electrical control section. The pump section of the waterfall layout is where water is supplied by a main inlet water source being a garden hose or underground pipe. The main inlet of water is controlled by a gate valve which is used to flow the water through and out of the waterfall.

A centrifugal end pump in the pump section helps to circulate the water on the pond or pool or the feature. The water inside the pool which is circulating is filter back up the pump via a anti vortex plate which strainers the water free of hard materials and the water is released and flows out of the waterfall once again.

The filter section of the waterfall is a very important part of the waterfall layout. All water which the waterfall pumps out is recycled via the filter section. All hard or coarse materials are taken out of the water which helps keep the water clean especially where aquatic animals a re living. Filters also can be automatically switched on due to excess rainfall which can flood the waterfall. If a waterfall has not been in use for several months the filter can be programmed to fully clean it freeing it of dirt, grime and algae.

The electrical control section of a waterfall is also another important section of the waterfall layout as it provides the waterfall with electricity to operate. Both the pump and filter sections will run off the electrical control section as will any under ground waterfall lighting or other electrical components.

Designing a waterfall from natural materials can be a fun and challenging task. The first step to designing and creating a waterfall layout is to decide on what type of waterfall you would like to build and where it will go. Drawing up small plans can help make designs seem more realistic and the plans may be easy to flow.
